What am I thankful for? Window film, and the advancements this industry has enjoyed over the years!
The holiday season seems to come more quickly every year. This prompts us to reflect on what we’re most grateful for, and to look ahead towards a new year right around the corner. As I think about the industry I’ve been immersed in for the last 35 years of my life, I’m amazed at how much innovation and advancement has taken place. Window film has changed tremendously with major innovations in materials, application, technology and more. This is a fast-moving industry and I am truly thankful to be part of it and to share it with readers here at “The View”.
Most people don’t realize how today’s window film differs from what they recall from a few years back. It can reduce energy consumption, cut glare, provide privacy, dramatically reduce the impact of UV rays through your windows, and even hold glass together if it breaks. Whether I think about my son playing ball in the yard and hitting a window – and how everyone inside will be safer if the glass doesn’t go flying – or I’m interested in keeping an antique oriental rug, drapes or artwork from fading, while still enjoying day lighting - window film has so much to offer.
When you contact a local IWFA accredited window film dealer, he may provide you a software-based energy savings analysis based on the size of your business or home, size and direction your windows are facing, climate and other variables, and you can get crystal clear information on how quickly your investment will pay-off.
So the next time looking for an upgrade to your home or business, take a look at window film first –not as a back up plan if you can’t afford to replace your windows. It is a completely different and really great alternative that provides a tremendous return on investment (in the form of lower cooling bills, a more even temperature across all rooms, 95% less UV rays coming into your home, no glare when you’re looking at a computer or TV screen near a window, and more.
Compared with window replacement, window film installation is not disruptive; you don’t worry about removal or disposal of old windows into landfills, or expansion of your carbon footprint (taking into consideration material and production involved in manufacturing new windows). And the job can get done fast – especially relative to window replacement. Wow! It really is time to take a closer look at window film, right?
