Window Film Industry On A Roll To A Successful 2014

Washington, D.C. – February 10, 2014 – The International Window Film Association (IWFA), a nonprofit trade group representing the many benefits of window film from leading manufacturers, distributors and dealers, kicks-off 2014 on a rapid roll with the expansion of its board by 30 percent, increasing from 10 to 13 members, and a 15 percent jump in its dealer membership.

Joining the IWFA board, as new manufacturer members, are Michael Martin of American Standard Window Film and Jun Lee of Sangbo Group LLC. To support the expansion, Jeff Thompson of Sunsational Solutions was added in the dealer category. In addition, Josh Buis of Scorpion Window Films was elected to the board as an ‘at-large’ distributor member. David Anderson of Solar Gard has been appointed to fill an unexpired term on the board. Other window film manufacturer companies represented on the IWFA board include: 3M, Eastman Chemical, Hanita Coatings, Johnson Window Films, and Madico Window Films. The new board members were eager to comment on joining:

“Our company made the decision to join the IWFA due to their strong presence in the window film industry. The IWFA has been very successful in their marketing efforts to promote window film’s use in the various automotive markets, as an energy savings measure in residential and commercial glass installations and as an overall green product,” said Michael Martin, president of American Standard Window Film. “We are also excited about the new energy analysis software that is available to the IWFA members and the positive impact it will provide to our customers and the final users of our products,” he added.

Josh Buis, Chief Operating Officer of Scorpion Window Film said, “I am honored to serve on the IWFA Board of Directors.  The IWFA does an excellent job promoting growth and provides an educational avenue for the window film industry.”

“I’m excited about joining the board when the IWFA’s efforts to promote the industry continue to gain momentum. They have taken bold steps in reaching out to IWFA members and thought leaders and educated the public about the energy-saving benefits of window film,” said David Anderson, Director of Operations and Technology, Solar Gard.

John P. Parker, owner of National Security and Window Filming, was re-elected President of the IWFA. Parker will lead a strong organization with the help of other IWFA members elected to board officer positions. They include Jim Black, elected as Vice President, he is the regional manager of North America for Madico Window Films and Keith Garwood, owner of Formula One of Raleigh / All-Pro Window Films as the Secretary / Treasurer.

“We are really excited about the huge momentum the IWFA is experiencing on all fronts – from expanded awareness of window film, to our significant, almost spontaneous growth in memberships, to our successful regional conferences,” said John P. Parker, president of the IWFA.

In delivering on its 2014 strategy to ‘bring the IWFA to the regional level’ in support of further growth, the association will hold a three-day conference and competitions from February 28 to March 2 at the Arlington, Texas Sheraton. The program, which is organized by the IWFA Members Action Committee, is open to IWFA members and non-members alike. Those attending will have the opportunity to take accreditation tests to demonstrate their knowledge in upholding high industry standards, improve their business acumen with hard-hitting industry seminars and face-off in industry competitions to see who can claim to be the best installer in the flat glass, automotive glass and paint protection film categories. In addition there are featured exhibits and demonstrations from window film manufacturers. For more information and to register for the event visit: http://www.iwfa.com/Events.aspx
