Summer is Here!

June 21 marks the first day of summer. The season of barbeques, pool parties, vacations, and of course, golf too!

Every year, the Summer Solstice reminds us that over the next few weeks, the sun will be higher in the sky causing the sun’s rays to penetrate the Earth at a more direct angle. In other words, June 21 marks the start of the season where skin protection from the sun is of the utmost importance!

You lather up with sunscreen when heading to your outdoor activities, and you cover the kids with sun lotion when they’re leaving for camp. But, are you and your family truly protected from sunburn, sun damage, and skin cancer? The answer is likely no.

According to The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention, there are more than 3.5 million new cases of skin cancer diagnosed and 2.2 million people treated in the U.S. each year.

Whether you are in the car, or sitting near the window in your kitchen at home, just because you’re not outside does not mean you are fully protected from the sun. The average car window only blocks about 40% of UV rays from passing through and into your interior. Home windows are even worse – only blocking about 25% of UV rays.

This summer, take preventative action against the sun’s damaging effects. A professional installation of window film on your home or car can help block up to 99% of UV rays. It really is one of the simplest ways to reduce your risk of cumulative skin cancer.

We’ve developed a handful of resources to guide you in selecting the right window film for your needs and learning more about the many benefits window film has to offer:
