Automotive window films offer many benefits similar to window films applied on windows, doors and skylights. Window films block 99% of the sun’s harmful UV rays that lead to skin damage and may also fade a car’s interior. Window films can reduce the amount of heat coming into the interior and reduce glare as well.
Many jurisdictions have legislation that specifies and may limit what can be applied to the windows of personal use vehicles. Be sure to check the State Law Chart page on this website.
For commercial trucks, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is the agency in the Department of Transportation responsible for safety regulations concerning motor carrier operations. Our regulations include certain requirements for motor carrier safety management controls, driver qualifications, and CMV equipment necessary for safe operations. Window films rated at 70% visible light transmission are permissable.
