The International Window Film Association Attends SEMA Show, Focused on the Future of Window Films
Washington, D.C. – December 17, 2025 – The SEMA Show is the premier trade event for the automotive specialty-equipment and aftermarket industry. Organized by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), the Show brings together manufacturers, distributors, installers, retailers, and industry stakeholders to showcase innovations, network, and stay ahead of trends. Each year, the event draws tens of thousands of professionals from all over the world. From automobile manufacturers to aftermarket parts, SEMA covers all things automotive for owners and businesses alike.
For an organization like the International Window Film Association (IWFA), which represents professionals and businesses in the window-film industry (covering architectural, automotive, safety/security, and decorative applications), attending SEMA each year presents tangible advantages. Executive Director Darrell Smith has been attending the show since the early 2000’s focusing on creating more personal relationships with both Member Manufacturers and emerging players in the window film industry.
“SEMA is not just a place to go and see familiar faces. It’s a place to meet new people and companies committed to advancing window films and their technologies, much like the IWFA” stated Smith before leaving for the 2025 edition. Held at the Las Vegas Convention center, the event is a spectacle for all in the industry. Held across all three halls, the show has something for every automotive enthusiast. Focusing on window films, Smith stated that there seemed to be more exhibitors this year than in years prior. “The market is growing both digitally and grassroots.”
For the IWFA, SEMA is a way to connect current technology with the direction of the future. SEMA stands to exhibit thousands of new products, not solely focused on window films. This gives members the opportunity to see not only aftermarket trends, but greater automotive trends in general. Because SEMA brings together manufacturers, buyers, distributors and service providers under one roof, it’s a unique opportunity for the IWFA to build relationships with suppliers, installers, manufacturers and distributors.
By attending annually, the IWFA can maintain visibility within the broader aftermarket and automotive accessory ecosystem. It signals to members and partners that window films are connected, forward-looking, and aligned with vehicle innovation and market trends. From an association standpoint, this is crucial for both the growth and knowledge of the member base.
